We just got an update from our agency on Makeda!!! She is the exact same weight as Simret 32 pounds, a couple of inches shorter, and wears the same shoe size. It will almost be like having twins. I cannot wait to buy them matching clothes (a bit ridiculous - but that's me). She seems to be doing well developmentally and socially. She is learning Amharic (the language spoken at her orphanage) - she speaks Sidaman. Her hair is starting to grow in as well (she was shaved bald when she arrived at the orphanage). But, the climax of my story today...is that she takes naps!!! Yup, Mommy still gets an hour to herself a day!!!! Don't judge. She is also potty trained... so I'm happy to say "goodbye cloth diapers" as Simret has been without diapers for over 4 months now!!! Happy...happy day! Wish I could post a picture for you, but it will have to wait until we pass court (Ethiopian law). Oh, and by the way... our court date is April 26th. If we pass the first time, we should be traveling to Ethiopia sometime in June.
I'll keep you posted if anything new comes up...
cheers, jill
