Last Day of the Jazz Festival (Sunday)

Sadly, today is the last day of the festival. That being said my body is ready to take a break from all of the fun a while. The weather has been beautiful here-in the high 70's low 80's. This morning we decided to eat brunch at the House of Blues. Today they have a Gospel brunch-we thought that Simret would enjoy that.

Off to the House of Blues...

Simret enjoying biscuits and gravy @ the House of Blues. She ate her whole breakfast; everything on the plate!
@ the House of Blues...Simret holding the cloth napkin that she was just waving in the air while the Gospel group was playing. Let me tell you she was getting down...and of course everyone noticed.
Simret passed out after her HUGE breakfast and a lot of dancing at the House of Blues on our way to the music festival.
Simret getting ready to see Better Than Ezera. We had tickets that allowed us to be in the lawn area the front of each stage so that Simret could have some room and so that she could see the bands.
Simret getting ready for the next band.
African/Indian street dancers. I talked to one of the guys that makes these costumes and it takes him a year and a half to make them (he works full-time just on 1 costume all year).

Simret passed out again during a really loud show? She did have ear plugs in, but still...this girl can sleep anywhere I tell ya!
Simret still sleeping!!!
Finally awake and getting ready for the Dave show! Butterfly wings and all...
Having a snack before Dave...
Mom trying to explain how exciting the next show is going to be. Telling her how I have waited a very long time to share Dave with her.
Mommy watching Dave and Simret watching the thousands of people behind us!

I was going to post about how special Simret going to a Dave show was to me...but I have sort of lost my inspiration-as I have already tried to describe how it felt to have her FINALLY there with me to some family that didn't understand.
For the sake of Simret reading this someday...Today, was an extremely special day for me. It was a day that I had daydreamed about on multiple occasions. Having my daughter with me experiencing something that fills my being with love, with inspiration, with pure joy...a Dave Matthews show. Now that may seem foreign to many who read this-but so be it. I have found few places (Happy Jack being one of them) that make me feel the way I do at a Dave show; and to have Simret there-dressed in a cute pink dress with butterfly wings dancing her heart out made it perfect...made it surreal. My favorite part of the day is when we were leaving and a guy the was in the audience at the show said, "I think she had more fun than you guys did-she certainly danced harder". I was a proud Mama. So, go ahead and think that this is the most ridiculous post you have ever read. To me, it doesn't get better than this. A beautiful day, enjoying the sweet sound of my favorite band with best friend (my husband) and my daughter. Does life get any better? I cannot imagine how?

Oh phoey on family. They can be retarded! Simret looks beautiful and she had a wonderful time. She may not carry your blood but she carries your spirit!!!! What a great experience

Quite simply Jill: no it does not get any better. I know EXACTLY how you feel, both about Dave and about Simret and the magic of putting the two of them together. It's a religious experience, having the people you love there doing what give your soul wings. Loves.

It should be noted that Simret is the cutest dressed baby ever. I LOVE her style :)
