Costa Rica

We have made it back from our vacation to Costa Rica. What an amazing, beautiful country! Lance is convinced that someday we will live there; and has been searching website after website trying to find out how to make that possible. So, needless to say we had a fabulous time. I did miss our sweet Simret and thought of her anytime I saw a little girl, a pretty flower, swam in the hot springs (as she loves water), watched the wildlife...okay, I thought about probably every 5 minutes, but as an after thought I realized how nice it was that she wasn't there and that Lance and I had quality time to waste together. So, we did. It was probably the most relaxing vacation of my life. I tried to savor every minute of it; as I knew that this probably wouldn't happen again.

Simret on the other hand enjoyed her time with her Granny. They watched TV (which we don't do much of), they danced and sang, she ate her 1st fast food french fries, they stayed up too late, Granny rocked to her to sleep before naps and before bed, she didn't get in trouble for throwing her food, feeding the dogs her dinner, or for being naughty in general. To summarize, Simret had a great week of doing whatever she wanted...so you guessed it she came back a monster. We are still trying to get back on track from her of week fun. She has been sleeping horribly, wanting to be rocked at all hours of the night, or just checking to make sure we are still there and haven't left her again. The first couple of days I think she was in time out more than not (not really, but it felt like it). We have also had to hold her all week, one of is always carting her around, because each time we put her down she cries "up, up". I know this will pass and realized before going that this was probably the price we were going to have to pay for our vacation. We have also questioned whether we were gone a bit too long for her. I think that we have decided that from now on we will take her with us until she is a little older and understands. So, for now we are trying to reassure her that we are not leaving again...I just hope that our trip hasn't caused any sort of permanent damage?
