We leave for Ethiopia in 1 week from tomorrow! I'm excited beyond words and yet terrified all that the same time...probably normal emotions to have before meeting our daughter. We have a lot packed into the days that we are there. We get there Thursday night and Friday morning Simret gets to meet her birth mother. That afternoon we leave for Awassa to visit Makeda's orphanage and try to find out anything we can about her past. We will stay here for 2 nights then return to Addis Sunday and meet our little girl Monday morning. The rest of the week is filled with the typical adoption stuff- getting her Visa- passport, etc. We will also visit the Thomas Center, the care center that Simret came from. I would like for her to visit the nannies that took such excellent care of her the 5 months she was there. I have saved all of Simret's adorable clothes since we met her and we are going to donate all them back to Simret's original orphanage and the Thomas Center.
