Kimberly, a mother from our agency, is in Ethiopia right now meeting her sweet baby. She wrote an email from Ethiopia yesterday that said that Makeda "is so happy and beautiful. She has the softest hair ever. She did receive the care package. She gave me and my friend loads of hugs, kisses and smiles. Unfortunately, when my friend and I went back to take pics today, she was napping. We did the best we could with the pics and you'll love how she sleeps!" Don't think that I didn't read that paragraph a 100 times- so happy that she is smiling, hugging, kissing, and NAPPING!
Update on Makeda
The day that we found out that we didn't pass court, we also got an updated assessment on Makeda from our agency. There were lots of pictures included (which I wish I could share but cannot until we pass court). These are the first pictures that we have received where she is smiling and what a beautiful smile! It melted my heart to see her smile; as the rest of the pictures I have of her show a scared little girl with hauntingly, beautiful big brown eyes. She seems to have friends there- in one picture she is kissing another girl on the cheek. She is picking up Amharic fairly rapidly. She has grown 0.3 inches making her exactly the same height as Simret. As of now, Simret is the same height, weight, and has the same shoe size. It is going to be like having twins...fun and scary!!!
