Costa Rica Days 4 &5

Day 4
We started the day by taking a hike in Cahuita National Park. It is approximately a 4 mile in and back. We only hiked approximately half that. I have never hiked a trail of sand before. We saw Howler monkeys, sloths, and a diversity of birds and vegetation. We stopped along the way to play in the ocean and have "a snack" (which is one of Simret's favorite times of the day).

after a long hike a pina colada is in order.
the restaurant that we stopped at had an area for the kids to play... what a concept!
Simret decided that her "baba" didn't look fancy or tropical enough... so she added an umbrella (its all about the accessories).
Day 5
Today we decided to venture down the beach in search of the perfect beach and some more adventure. We ended up at the end of the road, Manzanillo (so to speak-next would be Panama with a large rain forrest and beach between). We ate in Manzanillo and played on the beach (which was crazy crowded). Simret ran across a couple of local kids playing futbol and is now interested in playing herself...and let me tell you she has a leg on her. We then went to Punta Uva to explore yet another beach. By the end of journey for the perfect beach-we came to find out that it was the beach across the street from our cottage.

now that is skill...
At dinner there were some local boys playing the drums and guitar. Simret flirted with them enough to finally ask, "my turn drums?". They ended up giving her a turn.
Simret's turn (of course Mommy had to sit with her)
yup... she is riding on his back in the backpack because it was the only rain cover we had for her. She is always up for a little adventure.
