Simret on the airplane to Texas
We went for a long weekend to visit Lance's family in Texas 2 weeks ago. We had a fabulous time! Simret was an amazing little traveler (which hasn't always been the case- especially when an airplane is involved). Simret had the pleasure of playing with her cousin, Mia (Lance's brother's daughter). They are two weeks apart, so they even had a birthday party for both of them while we were there. I have never seen Simret get along with another child the way she did with Mia. As you know, toddlers often fight over toys, love to tell each other "no", and defend their space. But, with Mia, for some reason, none of this went on. They played for hours and hours together without us having to remind them "to have nice hands", "to take turns", "to give each other space", "to use nice words" etc.

Before they went swimming at Beep's house (Lance's mother)
Bath after they went swimming. I don't have pictures swimming, because I swam with them. Simret was a crazy woman...she would run and then jump into the pool- we finally had to put a lifejacket on her because she would often jump where we were not? It made me super nervous- because as most of you know... I'm a horrible swimmer. She definitely does not have an appropriate fear of water?
The Ranch
Lance's mother just bought a ranch outside of Fredericksburg, in the hill country. It is a beautiful retreat with a couple of guest houses and a swimming pool (which is Simret's second favorite feature of the Ranch- secondary to the cows.).

and yes, there is even a cemetery on the Ranch?
my favorite part of the Ranch is that it is totally off the grid. Solar powered, large batteries, generators, and other renewable sources that I don't understand.
ps- I still have more pictures to post of my sister's wedding...so more to come soon!
