September 5th 2009~ Simret's 2nd birthday
the new princess dress her granny gave Simret for her birthday.
..and if you ask her how old she is today she will tell you "one, two" and hold up her pointer finger (that somehow symbolizes 2 in her mind). She will also say this proudly with a big smile on her face. More times than not she will usually bust into the "Happy Burthday" song; that goes something like "Happy burrthday to me...Happy burrthday to me...Happy burrthday Simmet...Happy burrthday to me".
We are not actually going to have her birthday party until this next weekend on Sunday. We are planning on picking up her 4 best friends in the school bus and driving them to a miniature horse ranch that one of our cowboys friends (a guy we know through my little sister Sara) works at. There they will be able to ride the horses and ride in little wagons that they carry. Simret is super excited... she hasn't taken her pink cowgirl boots that she got for her birthday off yet. In fact, she wanted to wear them to bed last night and asked for them 1st thing this morning.
So, what did we do for her official birthday- take her to a music festival - of course! We took her to the Snowy Range Music Festival that was held in Laramie...yup just down the street. For those of you who missed it and were in town...you might want to rethink that next year? It was a great time - the first year that we have had the festival. It didn't quite have the turn out that they hoped for...but there is always next year. It was an amazing 3 days of music and we didn't have to fly to get there, camp out, drive for hours, it was right in our back yard. This is the 5th music festival that we have taken Simret to this summer - and Susan Tedeschi was by far the best show that I have seen all summer. Anyway, Simret had an amazing time - she danced, played ball, rode in her wagon, played with her bubbles, and then danced some more. She ended up passing out at 7pm in her wagon - she was exhausted from the full day at the festival.
