Today (2.11.09) marks our 1 year anniversary together; I have FINALLY finished publishing my journal of our family's adventures in Ethiopia. Before we met Simret we traveled South of Addis for 1 week; getting to know her roots. It was the trip of a lifetime. I have had a wonderful time putting this journal together over the last couple of weeks-reminiscing about those days-usually laughing at our misadventures and sometimes shedding a tear for those we met and left behind. It only makes my desire to return to her birth country even greater! This has truly been the most rewarding year of my life. In the last year, Simret has taught me so much about myself. She has reminded me how to play, how to laugh, how to enjoy each moment, how to be patient, how to let things in life go that don't matter, how to never say never, and how to love someone much it hurts. I look forward to the years that we have in front of us; and to the our adventures together in the future as a family.
Cheers to today & 1 year ago today!!!
ps-below is my journal and emails that I sent to my family & friends while in Ethiopia. You may have already read the 1st couple of entries as I wrote them about 10 months ago thinking I would be able to finish way before now? The journal entries span over about two pages-what can I say, I am wordy- Happy reading!

Happy 1 year anniversary Simret, sweet girl. We love you, your mommy, your daddy, and your brothers; more than words could ever express through a piece of technology.
