Vacation Day 1-Travel

We spent the evening with our "Laramie family" to celebrate my birthday with a little wine and dessert. We left Jen & Lars's at 9pm for the beginning of our journey to Jamaica. To be honest with you, I was dreading the travel, as our plane was departing at 1:15AM (when Simret was suppose to be sleeping). Simret did sleep the two hour drive to the airport. We woke her to check in at the airport which took 2 hours and was a complete CF; as she was a lap child and they for some reason couldn't get that to print on the ticket. Simret was surprisingly amazing during the 2 hours of standing at the ticket booth. Then we boarded our plane. The flight was 2 hours-Simret slept about 1 hour and was so sweet during the flight. We then had a huge, 3 hour layover in Atlanta-where we played games and walked up and down the hallway. She was not having anything to do with sleep-she thought that we were already at our destination? She had a ball at the airport...flirting with everyone and making them laugh. When then boarded plane number 2 and it was 9:30AM. Simret fell asleep in line to board? I couldn't believe that she made it that far before sleeping. She pretty much slept 3 hours that night? She continued to sleep through the 1 hour wait on the tarmac and 2 hours of the 3 hour flight to Montego Bay. Once in Montego Bay we had to wait an hour through immigration; then we had to take a 2 hour bus ride to Runaway Bay. She was amazing the whole trip? ...a perfect angel ...and for those of you that know Simret...this is not always the case. She had a great time and loved the trip here...even though it was torture on us...it has been a really long time since I have stayed up all night. But, Simret made it enjoyable...

Simret playing on the airport floor (I know...gross, but what can you do?) at 4AM in Atlanta.
Simret's second outfit in the airport at Atlanta...approximately 5AM
Simret watching "Baby Einstein" -and she only watched it for about a half hour ("movie" is the last resort...but we didn't even need a last resort...so I thought it could be a reward this time for good behavior...instead of a distraction for negative behavior.)
Second plane ride...only 2 hours till Jamaica...

In the CF that is this house (read: rotavirus) I didn't get a chance to wish you a happy birthday. Love U! Enjoy Jamaica and call me when you get back.
