This weekend we met up with Simret's family from the Thomas Center: Judah and Pacey. I cannot begin to explain how good it was to see Danielle, Tommy, Judah, Jocelyn, and Pacey! It seemed like it was yesterday that we were all in Ethiopia experiencing parenthood for the first time together...and then again, it feels like a lifetime ago? There have been so many changes with each of our babies in the last 4 months...not to mention the fact that we have grown and learned so much about parenting from our little ones during that time. They all seem to have adjusted quite easily since their arrival "home". Judah has an amazing vocabulary...not to mention a smile that does not stop! Pacey is a beautiful little butterfly that won't let her mommy out of sight for a second...her ability to eat almost anything without choking and her fine motor skills are impressive. Judah still has that look that says "I'm here let the party start!". While Pacey bats her long eyelashes at you and melts your heart with her smile.
...the one thing missing this weekend was Aly (Jocelyn's sister)...she was healing from her LAST spine surgery :) We missed you and hope to see you soon...sending you positive energy for a quick recovery!
It was great to have the kids together again...playing (if you want to call Simret pulling out each of their hair-jealous she doesn't have any- and stealing their toys, playing). The whole time Simret was showing off her mobility and using the 3 words she knows...trying to impress her friends.
Each of us agreed to be committed to getting them together at least yearly. There is a big Ethiopian reunion in California at the beginning of August. We plan to go and stay with Danielle and Tommy; should be a lovely time!

The pictures made me laugh (and... you can guess... cry). I am so glad you were all able to get together! I agree with your assessment of how it seems like it was just yesterday and yet like it was a lifetime ago.
I hope I am there for the next yearly reunion because I miss Simret and Judah SO much (and you guys, too)!
Aly-
you were truly missed...it wasn't the same without you there! Hopefully at our next get together you will be there.

Those are three of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen Jill! Miss you lots!
It was SO great to meet you guys. Simret is amazing. I just LOVE her personality & she is so beautiful. I hope we'll get to see you again the next time the Walker's visit.
Take care,
Michelle
Are you guys in CO? We are in south Denver and have only met one other family adopting from Ethiopia. We are with CHI (Children's Hope International). Just hoping to possibly make another CO connection! If not, congrats on your family!
Take care

We are not from Denver...just a meeting place for all of us. We live in Laramie, Wyoming...not too far from Denver, about a 2 hour drive.

So...ARE YOU COMING? Are you going to make it? I hope so. It's 6 weeks away (according to Jocelyn, our informant)!
