Dance Class

Simret started ballet classes a few weeks ago. It seems that her favorite part of it is dressing up to go to class. She just loves the attire that dancers have chosen to wear. I will have to admit that I was a bit anxious dropping her off at her first dance class. Yup, dropping her off- they don't let parents stay because apparently we are "disruptive". The first class we were allowed to stand behind the wall and watch through the mirror (that is why these pictures are so horrible- they are taken through the mirror). Both Lance and I stood there commenting on how precious she and all the little dancers were and how she is getting to be such a big girl- I wanted to burst into tears- but I held it together as there was another "first time parent" standing behind the wall peering at their daughter through the mirror. We planned to stay there all class, because this was going to be the only class that we were allowed to do this- from now on we were expected to drop her off. Until, Simret said to the dance teacher, "my Daddy is hiding behind that wall" and points to our hiding spot. We can take the hint and decided to leave our "baby" in the hands of the dance teacher and the other 15 students comprised of 3-6 year old girls in the class. Simret is the youngest in the class at 2 years old, but she was convinced and had convinced us along with the dance teacher that she needs to start dancing now- or this may delay her profession as a dancer in the future. So, there we were standing outside of the building, fighting the chill of the weather and contemplating what we should do for the next half hour at 4:00 on a Friday. Then the obvious idea popped into both of our heads...wine...a date. So, we walked down the street to a local pub and had some wine, an appetizer, and good conversation- all of which had been lacking for some time. As most of you have already guessed, each of us looks forward to dance class each week. Simret adores going and we get a date... what more could a girl ask for?

Right before she busted Lance for standing behind the wall.

watching a "Princess movie" after dance one night.
