"The Pit"

The following are pictures of "our" new project in our front yard. Lance met this guy, named James, who is a contractor in town and together they are dangerous...very creative, but yet dangerous. He was originally going to build us a fence around our yard? Well, the fence has turned into a huge hole in our front yard filled with HUGE rocks (and when I say huge...I mean huge-one of them weighs 20 tons!) that is supposed to end up with a flag stone patio floor, a bridge that goes to our front door, rock seating, music, lighting, a river rock bed under the bridge, some sort of water feature, stairs to the back yard, no grass, and a fire pit on the opposite side of the front yard... It does sound fabulous...but we will see? There is still no fence is sight? No poles, no pickets, no gates? Just rocks and a large hole filled with more rocks? That being said, Lance is in heaven with this project, he is down there shoveling, planting, and working as hard as the guys hired for the job. I will keep you posted on this project as it progresses. (by the way, Simret loves "the rocks" and plays in what I call "the pit" every evening after the construction is over for the day).
my front yard...& for those of you that don't know where I live, we live on the main street in Laramie, so the questions are never-ending as to what is going on? I always have the same reply to their questions, "I don't know...I just wanted a fence".
look at that smile on his face? Our whole yard is dug up and he is LOVING it!
this is how the professionals place a huge ass rock? The largest rock broke a 300 dollar OSHA certified chain-one of the links came loose and went flying into the street (Grand Ave. the busiest street in our town) and it was glowing red, because it was so hot from all the tension. They have had a hell of a time moving the rocks because of their weight. We got the rocks from my sister, Sara's, ranch. We couldn't have done this project without her rocks, as it would have cost thousands of dollars...so thanks again little sister for letting us bring Iron Mountain in to our yard!

"the rocks"
our street is even a mess?
...and the side of our house?
wine by candle light in the pit (our contractor, James, left us a candle with a bottle of wine and asked us to have a discussion where we wanted the rock seats to be located-thoughtful guy?)
flowers that were saved...
at least we still have our back yard?

....and I just wanted a fence?
