Mid-August 2008

I thought that I would give you all a little update on Simret. She is 3 weeks away from her 1st birthday...this summer has flown by. I unfortunately feel winter creeping in already. Today is a rainy, gloomy day in the low 50s with the threat that it will drop to the 30-40s tonight. I am hoping for a few more summer days! Simret seems to change daily~I am quite sure that she will be walking any day now...as there is nothing safe that she won't pull herself up on; including the dogs! She has not expanded her vocabulary for a while? Still says "Hi" and "Dada" nonstop. She was saying Mama for a while; but I am now dad or Dada again? She said "Hi dog" yesterday when came home and let them out of their kennel; this was a first and may be last time. She usually just says "dog". She is still working on her 9th and 10th teeth and is drooling like crazy. I think her favorite color is yellow and she loves balloons? Every time we go into the grocery store she sees the balloons at the check-out counter and starts panting like a dog...smiling, screeching, drooling, and waving at them. Instead of pointing she waves at an object when she wants it; and has finally learned bye, bye and to wave bye; although she is much more fond of "Hi".

Here are a few random pictures of this month...
before dinner
Swim party in our front yard...Lance and Letha were at work; so Shane brought the kids over and of course Mike was there to join in on the fun!
Tayler and Simret...
Simret pulling up on her bouncer...
More pool time fun...this time by herself? Maybe more friends would come over if she didn't squirt them in the face with the hose?

What a sweetie. Don't worry, "Dada" at our house refers to a collective parenting unit that includes all siblings as well. We'll be "mama" soon again!
