snow day in Laramie...this is a picture of the view down our side walk and of our house... I am ready for good weather! I thought it was Spring...I guess this is typical Spring time in Wyoming...
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted...life has been a little hectic (as I am sure you all understand). I promise that this week, I will dedicate more time to finishing my journal of our trip in Ethiopia.

Simret went to the doctor's Monday and she is 18 pounds! Yup, you heard me...she is a little on the large side...but she is healthy and meeting all of her developmental milestones. She has been to the pool quite a bit lately and just loves the water. She likes to drink it, eat it, and dunk her head under. She loves to play (splash) with the other kids in the pool.

She is getting her front two teeth and has been a little grumpy this morning...but all in all...she is doing wonderfully. She is still getting up in the middle of the night, once or twice (but I don't mind and actually enjoy rocking her back to sleep). Don't get me wrong...it is starting to take a tole on my energy level during the day and my memory and functioning at work...but it is worth it...someday she won't be waking and I will miss snuggling with her.

She is such a good natured baby...always smiling and very active. In fact, our pediatrician commented on how "active" she is. He said, "is she always this active?" I was thinking but didn't say "this is nothing". So, we may be in trouble...I think that she is going to be a handful?
one of her favorite teethers...a champagne cork?

I can't believe how big our babies are getting (ok, Jude was always big!). But, Simret is almost the same size as Jude was in Ethiopia! That's crazy. I can't wait to see all of them in June. We are still trying to figure out if Tommy is coming or not- but, I am for sure. Thank you for the update. I just love looking at her beautiful beautiful face.

Is it possible that she's even more beautiful than the day we met her??--and she's getting so BIG! All I have to do is look at her darling face and I smile.

Love to you, Miss Simret, and all "the boys"... can't wait to see you in June!

Jill,
I was re-reading your blog tonight from the beginning and it makes me amazed every time. It's been a tough week here and your trials to get Simret make it all seem trivial. I can't wait to see you guys this weekend. Jeff's dieing to hug Simret. He's really girl hungry right now, and I think we've decided on Rwanda. Then again, you know us, this changes daily. Love ya lots.
